Almost there! And something to do with stamps

So January 1st (ok, well, maybe the 2nd...we have plans for New Years Day) I want to go check my P.O. Box. So far I've looked in it three times, the day I got it, a few days later, and again today. It was empty the first two days, but today it wasn't! It had coupons and fliers, normal junk mail; but at least it wasn't empty!

We got a ton of stamps from a friend who was cleaning out their garage not too long ago. I used a few to cover a book, and my sister wants to use them for something as well, but I don't know if we will ever use them all. Well I was looking at Confessions of a Pen Thief's blog, and saw her post on things to do with canceled stamps. There was one, the Foxborough Regional Charter School Holocaust Stamp Project that I am going to send some stamps to (I am going to start clipping all stamps off envelopes). They want to collect one stamp for each victim of the Holocaust. They made a collage out of some of the stamps, "With Liberty and Peace for All"

Christmas Cards!

I love the holidays because of all the beautiful cards we get! This year, however, I've been feeling kind of guilty that we haven't sent any out. I don't feel like I can write them, though, because most of the people I don't even know. So today my mom and I sat down and wrote out cards: she picked out the card for each person, and wrote inside, while I addressed the envelopes.

I know that it is a bit late send out cards, but better late than never, right? When I move out, I want to make a serious effort to send Christmas cards to people, because with some of them, it is the only way we keep in touch.

Unofficial start...

So this isn't officially starting until January 1st, but I was so excited about it, and figured that if someone came across my blog now, by the time they actually wrote and sent the letter, what with Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, etc it wouldn't be until the 1st that I got it anyway!

While I'm at it, Postcrossing is a really cool website! I've received 15 postcards already from all over the world, and have sent even more. It is a really fun project.
