Giveaway and an old postcard

Well, no new mail recently, but some other interesting stuff...

Shannah at Write Before Your Eyes is hosting a giveaway! She drew this cute mouse on a card, and used a stamp on the envelope.

To enter, find a picture of a green owl and email it to her! The deadline is the end of the month. You can find the details at writebeforeyoureyes.blogspot.com/2012/01/giveaway. I thought it was pretty cool that she wants people to email her a photo, instead of just commenting. It makes it a bit more fun!

I happened to see this postcard from 1909

 I thought it was really cool that it was written in code! And that it is over a century old! It says "Dear Cooper, When are you going to write to an old friend? How are your mother and father, hope you are all well and having a good time." Wouldn't it be fun to make up a secret code with a friend? It would take a little bit to write and read it, but it would fun to know that no one else could read it! At least without taking the time to crack it...
